This is the first time we have had an opportunity to tour a Uniworld Ship. The Maria Theresa was put in service in 2015. It is a tribute to the only Hapsburg female ruler and in the foyer, is a specially commissioned 10-foot portrait of the Emperess.

2 of the English Trained Butlers posed for me during our visit. Butler service is only for guests in the suites.
Also, in the lobby area there is a stunning Murano Glass Chandelier.

Our Final Thoughts
It is an interesting ship, as the décor is different from other river ships. Uniworld’s European fleet is “one-of-a-kind” floating botique hotels that are themed in the area of Europe they sail in.
I think it is fair to say there is a lot to like about Uniworld, yet some think the opulent decorations are excessive. You can clearly judge from the ship pictures on which side you fall on. Of the 8 river cruise lines we follow, it is the most formal line but seems to maintain high standards on all ships.
